Using the power of AI inside your automations

The need for AI in task automations
Most task automations don’t require AI to be useful and time-saving.
But for some, it becomes obvious to take AI's help, and it makes your automations instantly smarter.
This is especially true for tasks like social media posting, resume screening, and other workflows where human-like reasoning is needed.
AI can't truly think like Humans yet, but it has good enough abilities to help you with most common reasoning tasks.
For example…
Using AI for Social Media Automation

If you manage social media accounts, AI can help by:
- Writing posts based on a simple idea or topic (often better than a beginner copywriter)
- Analysing past content to suggest new posts that can perform well.
- Proofreading posts before publishing them to ensure quality and tone consistency.
I am not exaggerating it.
I worked with a good number of digital marketing agency owners who believe AI works better than some of their employees and that too without any training :P
AI for Resume Screening

Hiring takes up a lot of time, especially when HR teams have to manually review dozens of resumes.
In this case, AI can help by:
- Scanning resumes and comparing them against job requirements.
- Providing recommendations on whether a candidate is a good fit.
This saves time and ensures every resume gets reviewed fairly.
The problem with hallucinations of AI

Although AI is getting better every day, it is not a human.
It can generate biased or incorrect content, and the accuracy of its output depends on the quality of the data it was trained on.
So, a human must still review the help provided by the AI.
For example, the HR team should still have to go through the resumes manually after the AI filtering.
Otherwise, there are chances that good candidates might slip through because of the errors of AI.
Similarly, I would recommend having a human approve the AI-generated content before it automatically gets posted on your marketing channels.
AI doesn't understand your business like a human, and it doesn't care about your reputation.
So, posting wrong information can easily kill your professional reputation that took years to build.
How to Add AI to Your Automations
AI services like ChatGPT and Claude allow us to use their APIs just like non-AI services like Gmail, Airtable, etc.

So, from a technical standpoint, adding AI to our automations is no different from adding non-AI services.
Here’s how you can do it in three steps:
- Add AI modules: Automation tools like Make.com have built-in AI integrations (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude).
- Obtain an API key: Register with your preferred AI service and generate an API key.
- Write an effective prompt: Provide clear instructions to ensure AI generates useful output.
That's all.
Not complicated at all.
Anyway, now that you know how AI fits into automations, let's build something useful.
So, starting from the next lesson, we’ll build an AI-powered resume screener to analyse applicants' CVs with the help of ChatGPT and JSON generation capabilities.
Along the way, we’ll master some more important features of Make.com.
I’m forwarding your resume to the next lesson. :D
See you there!
